Mrs. Lopez’ Class

Dear Families,

It’s May and getting closer to the end of the school year, what an amazing ride we’ve had.  Mrs. Brooks and I thank God for our little blessings and are amazed at how much the children have grown, wow!

This month, we will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Wednesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 2nd.  We will listen and dance to wonderful Mexican music, wear sombreros, and enjoy delicious south of the Border snacks!

Open House was a wonderful night filled with oohs and awes, smiles and lots of great chatter.  We loved it!  Our theme was “To Infinity and Beyond”.  If you didn’t get a chance to see the children’s wonderful creations, please feel free to walk through our class after school.  Did you get a chance to visit our Art Gallery in the hallway just outside our back classroom door? Please take a moment to take it all in.  I welcome all the families of our school as well. The Artwork in the classroom and in hallway will be up until May 10th.

This month is a special month where we honor our Mothers on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12th.   Our Preschool celebrates a special Mom’s Day at Preschool on Thursday, May 9th and Friday, May 10th.  These days are set-aside for a fun day with your child and in our class.  We will sing a little, dance a little and work on an art project for Dad. We hope to see on this special day.

It has been a wonderful year for me to share the fun and exciting music, songs, dance “La Raspa” in Spanish and many concepts with the children throughout the school.  I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of my sweet friends.  Adios amigos!

Thank you Coach Brian for your terrific sports class and super-duper energy!  We enjoyed your laughter and wonderful friendship.  See you next year!

Ms. Jamie, we thank you for playing the piano alongside of us during the Christmas program and Mom’s day.  We enjoyed your sweet way of teaching us to sing along with you.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the families who donated items to our class and for volunteering with special events, cutting homework letter shapes, cutting, class parties, washing aprons, checking out library books for the class and field trips. We embrace you with lots of love and hugs for making all this possible.

A sweet thank you to Grandma Barb who shared wonderful bible stories with the children and teachers. It was truly a blessing to have you.

Graduation will soon be here so mark your calendars for Monday, June 10th and Tuesday, June 11th.

My dear families, I end this last newsletter with a heavy heart, as our year with your children will soon come to an end.   In the beginning of the year, our task was to help the children separate from home.  Now it is time for us to separate from each other.  We are very proud of the way the children have adjusted and learned to be part of our school.  We have seen growth in the children in the way they deal with frustration, care and express concern for one another.   We have such wonderful memories to carry with us into the rest of our lives.  We will think of them often.  We thank you for entrusting your child to us.  We truly thank you for the love and support you have given us throughout the year.  We are very thankful for all your wonderful comments, and terrific gifts you have shared with us throughout the year. We thank you for sharing your family stories, and for letting us share in your child’s Preschool experience.   Your children are ready to take on the world!  Watch out kindergarten here they come!

Lovingly,

Mrs. Lopez and Mrs. Brooks

 Great Expectations

It is time to say good-bye.

Our year has come to and end.

We have made more cherished memories and many more new friends.

We have watched your children learn and grow, and change from day to day.

We hope that all the things we have done have helped in some small way.

So it’s with happy memories we send them out the door with great hope and expectations for what next year holds in store.
